Cross Country

It was a bright sunny day. At first nothing was happening, but suddenly. BANG! a little later, I am getting pushed my screaming kids. Off they rumble into the far distance, meanwhile there was not a sound to be heard in the cold breeze. The vibration from stampeding feet came rushing past me.
As feet brushed past me nearly hitting me.

The sound of cheering people has faded into the distance as people follow the runners.
